    This course is open to all HCPC registered chiropodists or podiatrists, physiotherapists, doctors, nurses chiropractors etc – L/A certificate is not required.

    This is two days of intensive practical training with David Lintonbon and Somuz Miah, based on Western principles of acupuncture, called dry needling.

    You will learn when and how to utilise this procedure safely.

    About the course

    Podiatrists may use acupuncture to treat alone or in combination with other modalities, symptoms associated with musculoskeletal disorders, neurological disorders and circulatory disorders.

    Common conditions treated include:

    • plantar fasciitis
    • Achilles tendon injuries
    • shin ‘splints’
    • calf cramping
    • arthritic joint pain as well as neuropathic pain, neuromas, and ulcers

    What does the course entail?

    Will you be using human models?

    It will involve hands on practical sessions on fellow colleagues

    This course will cover treatment for knee to toe problems, treatments will be covered on most lower limb pain management.

    About the Tutors

    David qualified from the British School of Osteopathy in 1985 and the University of Brighton where he was awarded the Post Graduate Certificate of Clinical Education. David has been teaching osteopathic technique & Dry Needling for over ten years in the UK and Japan

    Somuz is a qualified Sports Injury Practitioner (Diploma Sports injuries & Electro Therapy, 15 years),  he qualified in dry needling 4 years ago.  He has been practising podiatry for over 17 years. Somuz is a Consultant Podiatrist Prescriber & Member of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons Glasgow.

    Somuz has more than 12 years experience in teaching/training with qualifications `Certificate Teaching Skill EBM (Evidence Based Medicine), (NHS Westmidlands Deanery), & Level 3 Award in Education & Training Certification as well as IOCP`s award for `Outstanding Contribution Towards Education` (2015)
